Hey! Fast update huh?! I finished my 7-page term paper Saturday night and had a cruel sunday class. I'm tired, and need to sleep... but I finished this. I think it's my longest chapter yet! :) woooo!!

Enjoy! xxx

13 SURPRISE

It was almost one in the morning, some cake and a couple more movies later, that Raine got the courage to call Ivan. Primping himself in the mirror so he didn't look as if he slept all day.

“Hello?”

Raine pulled away from the mirror as he heard Ivan's voice, sighing in relief that Lindt didn't answer.

“Sorry it's late,” Raine started, letting his tongue ring run over his front teeth, “Is it to late to come over?”

Ivan gave a small noise, “No, it's not. I've just been waiting for you.”

Raine gave another sigh, “Okay, well, I'll come over now...”

“Alright, I'll sit by the phone waiting for the other call... call me when you're five minutes away or close so I can wait outside for you.”

“Mm.. okay.” Raine gave a little smile before hanging up the phone.

--

Raine would take his time leaving the house, explaining to his mom that he might not be home tonight. She was actually glad that Raine would be going out; even if it was just Ivan house.

“Take some cake to him, I think he might of wanted some earlier.” She would smile gently as she had already put some large pieces of cake inside a medium sized container. Raine would nod a bit timidly, taking the container from his mother before finding a small bag to take with him.

He slid on his black messenger bag and placed the cake gently inside, slowly moving to the door he'd slip on his shoes as his mother scurried to the door to hand him a couple more things.

“Here, here.” she said lightly, handing him his inhaler and a plain black umbrella. He smiled and thanked her, kissing her cheek gently before looking out the window and handing the umbrella back. “It's passed. I think I can get there in time before it starts up.”

His mother nodded and would take the umbrella, “Have fun tonight. You deserve it.”

Raine only gave her a smile before exiting the house.

The weather was, what he considered, gross. The rain had passed, and the roads were wet with the left overs. The air a bit humid from the moisture that did not disappear. He gave a light noise before he started off on the memorable road to Lindt's house, but this time... as it has been for a little over half a year, for a different reason and person.

--

Ivan looked around his room carefully as he prepared for Raine to come over. He cleaned up all the beer cans and empty packs of cigarettes; tying the bags that contained all the trash and setting them near his door to take out in a couple minutes. He also would clean out his ash trays, run a rag over his desk and sweep the floors.

When he was satisfied enough, he walked the trash outside and would place them by the curb. Looking down the streets to make sure Raine wasn't near, or about to call him. Ivan made his way back inside his house as he saw no blond hair boy walking up his street.

He would eventually decide to take a shower, keeping the cordless phone in the bathroom with him and everywhere he went. Waiting for the call excitedly; butterflies flapping around in his stomach. He made a light face as he ran his fingers over his stomach gently, never having felt something ... this... worrisome before.

--

Raine looked up towards the dark blue sky as he walked quickly towards Ivan's house, shoving his inhaler into his front pocket as he told himself that he would definitely beat the next rainfall.

But, his pace would start to slow down. His thoughts now getting the best of him as the excited butterflies turning into snakes of death in his stomach.

“Lindt is going to be there.” “What am I going to do if he sees me with Ivan?” “What if he listens?” “What if he laughs?” “What if he puts a move on me...” “What if...”

Raine eventually stopped near a small rest stop, at least that's what it looked like. A circular cove in the middle of trees; benches slowly curved around the circle with a trash bin in the center of the clearing; dirt leaking over the pavement, along with several cigarette butts loitering the ground. Raine's breath slowly hitched up as he thought of all the hideous outcomes that could happen by just walking near that house.

Ivan may be waiting for him, but Lindt... Lindt could be outside ready to jump him and patronize him. Lindt could be smoking outside ready to remind him of the old days, even though in the old days he didn't smoke. Raine shuddered as he slowly moved into the little niche on the side of the street, moving to the furthest side from the entrance and sitting himself down.

He wouldn't go, he couldn't.

--

Ivan was ready for the other to call and say he was near. Actually, Ivan was getting worried because Raine left nearly half an hour ago and still hadn't called. His mind was going in several different directions.

“Is he lost?” “Can't be... he's been here a million times before.” “Did his mom say no?” “That can't be it either, he would of called.” “Is... he scared?”

Ivan slowly got up from the bed as he considered the last question, looking out the window to see if Raine was coming up the street.

Nothing.

It was dark, and even the street lights were working well enough to brighten up the neighborhood. Ivan quickly grabbed his cellphone, searching Raine's number and pressing send as he grabbed his jacket and would hurry downstairs. Nothing became an emergency until he called several times and no one answered.

“Lindt! Going out!”

“What? I thought your lover--”

The door slammed before Lindt could finish his somewhat sarcastic sentence. Lindt's interest piqued and he slowly came out from his room, running his fingers through his hair.

--

It started to rain hard. The drops heavy, quick, and soaking Raine to the bone. Raine slowly pushed his hair back a the clips did nothing now to hold back his wet, dripping hair. He almost started to cry as he crossed his arms and held himself in that clearing.

“I'm so... dumb. I actually ... got excited for something not realizing the consequences...” His eyes watered up, but it wasn't noticeable because of all the rain. He would sit there for another fifteen minutes before the rain seemed to stop hitting him. Slowly being brought back to reality as he saw the wet tennis-shoes that belonged to someone else.

“Raine...”

His heart stopped, that voice. It was so familiar, so caring, so.. so.. so... fake. Raine sat up quickly and titled his head back to look straight up at Lindt. Lindt's hand now jutting out to caress his face with a smile. Raine jerked back, but there wasn't enough room for him to completely escape the other.

“L-L-Lindt?” Raine stuttered and then parted his mouth to speak again, but was cut off.

“Raine, you're going to get sick sitting out in this kind of weather.”

That sickening voice, it made Raine twitch and then slap Lindt's hand away.

“Is this some kind of joke!?” Raine yelled as he suddenly stood up and pushed the other back. Lindt not letting him go that easily this time, dropping his umbrella as he would then wrap his arms around the others waist. Pulling Raine into his body backwards so he could cup it with his own curves easily.

“You still fit perfectly.” Lindt whispered lightly into his ear and in no time drenched as well.

Raine's voice caught in his throat as his fingers gripped against Lindt's hand, his breath stopping completely as he felt the others warmth against him; trying to keep himself from leaning back into the other.

“I never forgot you know.” Lindt would continue on, his hot breath slowly running over the others ear. “I was... dumb... but...--” he would let his fingers gently run up his stomach, a soft shuddering breath escaping him. “Jesus... Christ...this feels just like old times.”

Raine gave a whimpering whine as he then started to move against the hands, muttering a, “Let go of me!” between his teeth as he tried to pry Lindt's hands off.

Eventually Lindt would comply and give a sigh as he ran his hand down his own stomach as if missing the warmth the other had momentarily given him.

“But...” he would continue, as if drunk off the others presence now, “But... don't think that Ivan is a bad person just because he is related to me.”

Raine didn't stay long enough for the other to continue as he quickly ran off from the other and the used-to-be-comforting clearing. He wouldn't run in any particular direction but was obviously running in the direction that Ivan was in because he could soon hear his name leaving Ivan's throat and then being caught in his arms before he could run any further.

--

A breakdown, lift, and change of clothes later; Raine was calming down on Ivan's bed. Wiping his swollen red eyes with a towel he was given to dry off with; peeking from behind it as Ivan had come back into the room in a new change of clothes, smiling at him.

“Are you okay?” he said comfortingly, sitting next to Raine and pushing a wet strand of hair away from his eyes. “I told you to call when you got close to my house... but you know... if you don't like the rain that much, I would of picked you up.”

Raine shook his head lightly as his blue eyes, which seemed cloudy, looked up to Ivan and then away for a moment.

“I just... got scared. Someone was following me and I'm not use to this neighborhood anymore..” he was mumbling, no valid excuse for his crying session earlier. He eventually set the towel onto his lap and looked down to see his soaked bag, remembering the cake.

“Oh...” he said a little sadly, but was slowly recovering, “My mom packed you some cake. She said you might want some...” he would slowly zip open his bag and pull out the plastic container to hand to Ivan. But, his cake was nothing compared to what Ivan was holding in his hand.

Nothing at all.

Raine dropped the plastic container as he slipped off the bed and was now sitting on the floor, staring up at Ivan. “What.. what's that?” he pointed to the small bright pink velvet box in Ivan's hand. Ivan smiled,

“You're present, what else would it be? I sure don't have pink boxes like this for no reason.”

Raine's lips parted as Ivan then opened the box. A platinum silver ring with two pure black metal pieces running down the center with a hot pink metal piece running down the middle of the pure black pieces. Raine looked up to Ivan, totally, and utterly, surprised.

“How much... was that?”

“Well, I can't smoke for a year, or drink. So you better be ready for some sleep overs.”

Raine blushed and gave a small smile as Ivan would chuckle lightly; pulling the ring from it's box.

“You'll wear it, right?”

Raine was quiet for a moment as he then sat up and smiled to him, “Of course!” but he couldn't wait for the other to put it on before he pulled the other in for a deep, and rather passionate, kiss.
