Author’s Note: Okay, even though I didn’t get a lot of reviews (ehem, and by that I mean 1!), I decided that was good enough and am continuing, no matter what everyone thinks. So here you go, chapter one:

After a few minutes, the brilliant light began to fade, bringing forth images of lucious green moss and radiant flowers, everywhere I looked. Nearby, I could hear a gentle stream rushing over stones, soon to empty into the beautiful, clear blue pond on my left, in which lime green lilypads floated quietly. Birds sang from above me, basking in the deliciously warm rays of the sun. Some danced in the air, twirling and playing. It seemed a heaven of some sort, with nothing but happiness filling my senses.

But that was just it-where was I?

Looking down at myself, I saw that all that covered me was a white robe. As if on instinct, I tried covering myself, feeling a strange, unfamiliar warmth seeping into my cheeks.

But all these odd feelings vanished, or perhaps exploded, when I saw a tall shadow cast over my body.

I looked up to see another...well, me. Except it wasn't me-it had short hair and thicker, bulkier arms, and was looking down at me with disgust. I couldn't even begin to think what it was, or why it was looking down at me with such distaste.

We stared at each other for a long moment before I felt complied to say something.

"Well, what do you want?"

It didn't say anything.

I tried again. "What are you? Can you speak?"

Finally, it spoke-or rather shouted. "What am I? What are you? I am a man, and the first man in this garden ever!"

I rolled my eyes, and responded without thinking. "You're not a man, silly. You're a boy. And why do you look so much like me?"

He squared his shoulders and narrowed his eyes at me, clenching his hands into fists. "First of all, I am not a boy, I am a man."

"Boy."

"Man!"

"Boy."

"MAN! I AM A MAN! And who says I should listen to you anyway?" He was definitely taking on a different expression now-it was making his face red. I laughed-what a silly sight!

He groaned. "What can you possibly be giggling about now?"

I grinned. "Your face-it's so funny!" I stood up, wobbling from the new, awkward use of legs. To practice, I walked around in circles around the boy, smiling as I started shaking less and less. "Hey, look at this, boy! I think I have this walking thing down pa-!" I tripped, falling onto him. He caught me, holding me in a cradle position.

He didn't let go. Again, the warmth that I didn't understand grew on my cheeks for the second time.

But, he soon realized that he was still holding on, and abruptly dropped me onto the dirt. "Oh, oops. Sorry about that."

I glared, rubbing my back. "Well, I was about to say thank you until you let me meet the ferns down there."

He smiled sheepishly.

"Well, back to my question-what are you?"

"I told you, I'm a man."

I sighed, not wanting to get into this again. "Fine. You're a man. Now what is your name, boy-man?"

"Adam. And yours?"

I thought for a moment. What a difficult question this was! What was my name? Did I even possess one? Am I really just a label, a girl and nothing else? I contemplated for a moment, pondering these questions of my existence-even if there was an existence for me. But no-there had to be a name for me...

But then it popped into my head, out of the blue. It came to me in a sudden rush, as if I had known it all this time. I knew how to respond correctly to the question I had just been concentrating so hard on.

"Nice to meet you Adam. I'm Eve."

Author's Note #2: So, did you like it? It was kind of hard to introduce Adam in this chapter, and I don't know exactly how it went-you guys have to tell me.

But I promise that next chapter will be longer. Hope you like it so far!
