Dreams Come True at the Fairy Ball

Come one, Come all

It’s time again for the fairy ball.

The decree went throughout the land.

Try to catch the eye of a prince and win his hand.

Patsy was full of excitement and delight.

She was finely old enough to attend this magical night.

Sitting herself right down,

She began to plan the most wonderful gown.

About the woods she roamed for hours,

To make her dress, she gathered a variety of flowers.

When the dress was finely complete, into the pond she glazed.

It was even more beautiful then she expected, and it left her slightly dazed.

The ball was held in the hallow old oak.

Hidden from the rest of the world, darkness its cloak.

Inside the tree fireflies hovered above, giving it a friendly glow.

Lighting up the dance floor far below.

Bells of different kinds began to ring,

And a chorus of fairies began to sing.

As the musicians played a catchy beat,

Patsy couldn’t stand still, and started tapping her feet.

A handsome prince came along and asked her to dance.

Patsy couldn’t believe her luck, maybe it would be a night full of romance.

She smiled and giggled, and flirted,

As around the dance floor and other couples they skirted.

Around the dance floor they continued twirling.

All about them multi-flowered skirts of the other fairies swirling.

Patsy was having a delightful time, she felt so carefree,

As her prince shared a joke they laughed with glee.

Finely the left the dance floor and went for a walk.

Somewhere they could be alone for awhile and talk.

They felt something special between them from first sight.

And they got to know one another better through out the night.

“It’s you I want to spend all my days with. Do you understand?”

He said to Patsy as he got down on one knee and asked for her hand.

“With you I’ll gladly spend the rest of my life.” She said with a sigh.

“I’d be honored to become your wife.” Was her reply.

He led her to an awaiting carriage,

As they went to spread the news of their upcoming marriage.

I don’t know about anyone else, but my dream came true for me.

And to think it started at the Fairy Ball in the old oak tree.
