"Hunter?" My voice echoed in the small room over the song playing during the credits of the movie.

"Yeah?" His own voice replied soon after.

"Why do you always stick around?" I asked him. It was all true, I rarely ever have a free moment without him, not that I'm complaining, after all he is my best friend.

"Why, do you not want me around?"

"I didn't say that.. It's just a question, answer it."

"Nah, I'll leave that for you to figure out."

"Fine then, I'm leaving."

"Don't be like that!"

"Why not?"

"Because I want you here." I had to hide my grin, he didn't need to know that just with that one statement I'd stay.

"Why? So you can keep all of your information to yourself and not tell me, your best friend." It hurt a bit to say best friend. Though I guess that's what he was.. I can't say that's what he wished he was, though.

"Right, my best friend." I barely heard him mutter. "No." he replied, louder this time.

"Come on, just tell me!"

"I can't." he mumbled

"Whyyyy?" I was starting to whine now, it's not like it was a hard question, was it?

"It'll change things." Ok, now I was confused. It would change things? Like what?

"... How can you be sure?" I asked him, hoping to myself he was thinking of the same reasons I was.

Hunter remained silent.

"Fine, whatever, Hunter, keep all your stupid answers to yourself, but I'm leav-" A chaste kiss was pressed to my lips, causing my eyes to widen. He quickly separated from me and practically leaped across the room.

"There, OK?" he snapped, his cheeks red from the embarrassment.

"You have no clue how long I've been waiting for that." I mumbled, just loud enough for him to hear as I walked towards him.

"What?!" Now his eyes were the wide one's. "What do you mean I have no clue how long you've been waiting for that? Y-you mean you WANTED me to do that?"

"Wow, we have a genius among us." I whispered sarcastically as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Well sorry that I can't compare to you." he replied, pressing his forehead to mine.

"Are you kidding me? It's you that no one can compare to." I mumbled against his lips.

"Mhm." came the response before our lips were pressed against each others a bit harder than before.

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

We stealthily came apart and looked at the new person to join the room.

"I fucking leave the room for like 10 seconds to go to the bathroom and I come back and find you two sucking face? What has the world come to?!" whined my other best friend, Jake.

"Ah, Jake don't be jealous.. It's not our fault that your girlfriend isn't here." Hunter teased

"Fuck you!"

"Nope, sorry, I'm all Lia's."

I grinned and looked back at him, pressing a kiss to his cheek before moving my lips to his ear, "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that either." we both burst out laughing, much to Jake's confusion, only to make us laugh harder.

"Ok, you two loons, am I gonna have to sit between you so we can continue the movie marathon without you swapping saliva?

"NO!" we replied in unison.

"Fine, though come on.. I want to get at least three more movies in before midnight." he said, placing a DVD into the player.

Hunter and I gave each other one last playful grin before we settled onto the couch, our limbs entwined within each others.

A small, "Thank God that's over." was mumbled before the whole room burst into laughter through the beginning credits.
