Author’s Notes:

A few years ago, I made a sexual purity covenant between me, my unknown future husband, and God. This is just a few musings along that idea. Written September 5, 2005.

Mild religious referance saying that God forgives.

I Wait

My loved one,
Are you waiting for me?
Are you staying pure,
Just for me?
I have made that promise, my love.
And I am going to keep it.
I pray your promise
Does not weigh heavily on you.
For heavy burdens are easy to discard.
My love, if you do stumble,
God is there,
And with Him, forgiveness.
I will forgive you too.
I promise.
So I ask you, my loved one,
Are you waiting for me?
Do you love me?
Though you have never met me?
I tell you,
I love you.
And I wait.
With God’s help,
I wait.
