Author’s Notes:

This is the product of forced writing. That’s why, in my opinion, it’s not very well written. So, I realize that it does not flow well and that it has awkward and separated phrasing. Please, don’t point that out. I also don't hold this poem's view; I just liked how the words flow. Other than that, read and enjoy. Written July 22, 2006.

The Cry of the Godless

Mine eyes looked to the heavens,
but saw only blue.

Where be the God of the skies,
who rules o’er the earth?

Thy fathers’ Lord is away,
He does not exist.

So mine eyes shall not weep tears,
for they have lost naught.

Yet my soul aches;
longing for a thing unknown.
