Chapter 1.
“What is your problem?” I growled, my books scattered across the hall way.
“I am so sorry-”
“I was RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! Are you blind? You might want to get glasses!”
“Look, watch who your talking to-“
“What did you just say? I’ll talk to you however I want to, I don’t care who you are!” I started picking up my books, I glared at him once more and turned around swiftly, only to have her wrist grabbed and swung around once more.
“What is your name?” The boy asked, his head titled to the side, his eye’s holding interest and confusion. The color- it was the palest of green.
“I don’t think it matters.” I sneered, ripping my wrist out of his strong grip.
“It makes all the difference in the world.” He retorted, he was staring at my, his green eyes looking at me up and down. I gaped at him, he was checking me out!
“No, I think it doesn’t, good day to you.” I practically ran down the hallway- what was HIS problem?
Are you confused? Well- my name is Kristen Carrie-Marie Dour, 19, and just moved to London with my father. I’m pretty short for a nineteen year old- only 5’3”, my dad always said my mom was short also. You see, my mom died when I was 2 years old. My dad would always stiffen when her name was said- he never really moved on.
My dad and I moved here because I was accepted into one of the colleges in London- and my dad found a wonderful job here also. So it all worked out in the end I guess. My vibrating phone snapped me out of my thoughts, I picked up,
“Hello?”
“OHMYGOD KRISTEN YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIM!” I sighed. My cousin- Ariel, was a senior who had graduated today at the college I was attending. Something exciting happened today, I have no idea what though.
“What? Who?”
“The prince! HE WAS EFFIN GORGOUS! And his voice was so deep! He spoke to us, and then I got to hug him! AHH!”
“Whoa calm down,” I chuckled; my cousin always had a thing for princes. I’ve never seen the prince of the UK though- although I heard things like ‘He’s so hott,” “I would ravish him right now if I could!” They DISGUSTED me.
“Anyway! I’m so happy! No more school for the rest of my life!”
“That means that you’ll have to work for most of your life then.”
Silence.
“Way to ruin my good mood, cousin.” Ariel growled.
“Sorry- Anyway, this guy he crashed into me today! And I start telling him off, right? Because I was right in front of him, and he goes and says ‘Watch who your talking too!’ But Ariel, he was handsome.”
There was silence on the other line.
“Oh my god, I think I’m going to cry! MY CUZZY HAS A CRUSHY!” Ariel squealed, I cringed,
“I just said he was handsome! That doesn’t mean him going to do him the next time I see him!”
“Oh, you might as well, because you may not notice it, but your really pretty Kristen, he must have been blind for not seeing you- but he’d have to be retarded and blind that he didn’t notice that you pretty also.”
“You’re embarrassing me.” I muttered, my cheeks turning red even though Ariel couldn’t see- I always thought I was OK looking, long very dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, and a fair tan.
“So? What did he look like?” Ariel asked
“Ariel!” I exclaimed,
“Oh c’mon! Just tell me!”
“Okay fine! He was at least 6’2”, and he wasn’t pale, but he didn’t have such a tan, and he had short light brown hair- it wasn’t a buzz cut, but it was short. And his eyes Ariel! They were the palest green! And he had a real heavy accent.” I ended with a sigh, entering a dreamy state.
“He sounds so handsome!” Ariel said, “but I can’t touch, he’s yours!” I nearly choked
“He is NOT mine! Though you can’t have him, he’s way too handsome for his own good.” I looked at my clock- 9:34 pm
“I have to go. Tomorrow I have to get up early to finish my essay in math.”
“Okay, bye Kristen!”
“Buh bye.”
Dumb school, I thought, why did I come here in the first place? Oh yeah. To have a better ‘future’
Pfft.
I started to walk into the school, only to look up from my fresh essay to find Him.
“YOU!” I shrieked my eyes wide.
“Me.” He smirked, I glared
“Are you an effin stalker?” He chuckled- damn that was sexy- NO! DOWN, BAD THOUGHTS, DOWN!
“I’ve got connections.” He drawled, taking a step towards her- she noticed a tall, fit black man following in his step.
“Well, if you excuse me- I have to get to my class.” I said, side stepping him, though he followed, blocking my path.
“And what is it you major in?” the young man asked, looking down at her. Damn tall people!
“Music, now please move so I can get to my class!” I exclaimed, side stepping him, only to find him blocking my path again.
“I asked you yesterday and I shall ask you again. What is your name?” I glared at him,
“My name,” I sighed and closed my eyes, giving in, “Is Kristen. Happy? Now please move!” I opened my eyes to glare at him, he was grinning like a stupid idiot.
“Well my name is James.” He said, extending his hand as if I would shake it.
“Um- I’m not allowed to talk to strangers.” I said, running to the front doors and rushing to my class, only to have someone gently take my arm and swing me around.
“Technically we know each others names, and technically, we’ve known each other for more than a day- so we are not strangers. Do you agree, Kristen?” He said, people were whispering and pointing at him. What is there problem? Seriously, he’s not even THAT good looking!
…Okay I’m lying, but whatever.
“Technically we’ve known each other for moments of 1 full day, and technically, even if we know each other first names- your still a stranger to me!” I said, ripping my arm out of his grasp.
“Well then- if you can’t talk to strangers, I guess we’ll have to know each other more.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” I asked quickly, not liking where this was going.
“Go out with me, Kristen.” He said. He didn’t ask, he ordered me to!
“Excuse me?” I hissed with poison, gaping at him. His eyes widened in shock,
“People do not just order me to go out with them, they ASK. And second of all, why would I want to go out with you in the first place?” I ran into my next class, not waiting for him answer.
James POV
“I like her.” I said, while Adrian stepped out into view. He was way taller than be, but he was my best friend. He wouldn’t hurt a fly if he didn’t need to.
“James, she hates your guts. Why do you like her?” Adrian asked in his deep rumbling voice.
“Because it’s sexy.” I said plainly, walking out of the college, Adrian close behind. I would get Kristen to go out with me. I mean, I am the Prince of England; I always got what I want.
Right?
