Epilogue

They buried Dante Lexington, Matavi Zlotnikov, and Sasha “Lady S” Johnson on the same day: Christmas. It was snowing and the few people that attended were bundled up in layers of winter clothes.

The only relative of Dante’s that went to his funeral was his older brother Fredrick.

Most of the national newspapers read the same headlines for two days “Carter’s Drug Bust! One of the Most Dangerous Drug Rings in DC Goes Down!”

But Mathew Carters, The Businessman, had been right. He wasn’t finished. As long as there were people who wanted drugs, there were entrepreneurs who would sell them.

Tracy Harrison and Ray Pulaski got married on New Years. The first person Tracy told was Mathew Carters. Mathew and Tracy share a certain bond, created by Dante and carried on by good natured games of Texas Hold’m and sports radio.

Mathew listens to the other criminals. He knows what they will do and reports his findings to Tracy. Many men would have gone on to renew their life of crime had it not been for Mathew's selfishness.
