Three Books

What 3 books would I take into the future to help a society where the Reset button has been pushed? While I'd like to think I'd be fair and pick books that would be neutral and not push a specific agenda, the fact is I would likely bring ones that would influence this burgeoning new world into becoming one of my ideals. The 3 books I would take are;

1 War is a Racket by Gen. Smedley Butler. Written after WWI, the book would be on my list for reasons that can be summed up by the opening of the book. “War is a racket. … It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.”

2 The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. As an Atheist, it is my belief that while religion has been beneficial to some individuals, in the long term its effects on mankind have proven negative. As amazing as our level of knowledge is today, imagine where we would be today without the dark ages; that 800 year period was science was heresy and anathema?

3 Talking Science by Adam Hart-Davis, for similar reasons to why I would bring The God Delusion. If this society is going to survive it can't be irrationally afraid let alone science.
