I guess you didn’t know.

Now it’s a little difficult

To interpret what I feel,

Since I fell in and out

Of your eyes.

And to know that those eyes

Were for her, and her alone.

Too bad she never saw what I saw.

-:- -:- -:-

It’s a little sad

That I say this in past-tense

And I have to admit now, that all along

It made perfect sense; you plus her.

Too bad you never read between the lines,

and you never found that girl

Who would’ve held your heart close;

Closer.

-:- -:- -:-

I don’t know if I can stand your smile.

I don’t know if I can stand your tears.

(On the edge, anyways).

-:- -:- -:-

And now I wonder

if this is really

goodbye.

(Well, you were never mine.)
