Mental Love Affair

So I have this vision

Of us in my head

In my dreams you love me

And meant every word you said

I can see you there now

Walking beside me in the sand

And promising fairytales

Talking of all we have planned.

I dream you are in love with me

The way I am with you

That no matter the distance

Our love can make it through.

You kiss me soft and sweet

Tell me you love me everyday

Because life is too short

To live any other way.

Lying beside you in our bed

Your arms envelope me

All of a sudden I realize:

This is where I was born to be.

Just the simple sound of your voice

Sends lightning through my veins

My heart has had some visitors,

But you are ALL that remains.

Then my eyes start to sting

The tears are uncontrollable now

Waves of grief wash over me

I'm suffocating somehow.

I wake up in the dark

Calling out your name,

Because your heart and mine

Are one and the same.
