I started this poem two years ago, and I just finished now. Go me and my slow writing pace. :P

Element

I speak to thee, my brothers, who walk this barren wasteland known as the World
We walk through the great trials of our days;
The trials of fire, water, wind, and earth
The trials of sun, moon, night, and star
The trials we all face

The trial of fire, of fury
The anger we feel burning up inside us
Wanting to be unleashed
Upon our brother, our friend, our comrade, our master
Upon any who defy our wrath

The trial of water, of sorrow
The sadness we feel swelling up inside us
Wanting to be released
In noiseless, clear streaks upon our faces and down our cheeks
In silence and aloneness

The trial of wind, of confusion
The disorder in our lives building up inside us
Wanting to be rampant
Our worlds moving by at a flying and intense speed
Our minds being cleared of any thought

The trial of earth, of burden
The load of our responsibility weighing down inside us
Wanting to be dropped
To roll freely of anything that may hinder its path
To injure as it moves about

The trial of sun, of persecution
The cries and taunts from numerous adversaries
Wanting to be daunting
Driving you to break yourself
Driving you to insanity

The trial of moon, of stray-ness
The temptation of the shorter road
Wanting to be taken
Winding in the wrong direction
Winding you to doom

The trial of night, of blindness
The blackness of the darker times
Wanting to be true
Laughing as you trip and fall
Laughing at your demise

The trial of star, of reality
The perspective of the astral eyes
Wanting to be realized
Staring as it states the painful truth
Staring with scorn and pride

These are the greatest trials we must face
The trials of fire, water, wind, and earth
The trials of sun, moon, night, and star
These eight crucibles cleanse the masses
And only the strongest can withstand them
