The River of Styx

-

Bound to the chains of unwanted fate, she cries

Her tears welled deep within her breast.

The chain bound tight within her chest.

Hands dug deep into the mud.

-

She pulls at the world

Pulls at the unrelenting flow

That time seems to keep

Stuck knee deep in the river of Styx

-

She screams at the world

Her throat torn, lips cracked

Her lover gone

Drowned in the river of Styx

-

She digs deep

Bound strong to the chains of unwanted fate

She tugs

Hands dug deep into the mud.

-

She turns her back on the world

Her eyes hazed with memory

Her mind sharp with pain

Waist deep in the river of Styx

-

She screams at the world

Her throat torn, lips cracked

Chained to fate

Drowning in the river of Styx

-

She cries out his name,

Syllables broken

Heart shattered, fingers trembling

Dying in the river of Styx

-

She sees him, her mind fuzzy

Her fingers dirty,

Her mind sharp with pain

Her chest chained to fate

-

He reaches for her hand,

She thinks to pull back

Her fingers dirty

Her mind fuzzy

-

He smiles, reaches for her

She thinks no more

Her fingers dirty, mind sharp

She takes his hand

-

Sinking deep into the river of Styx

She embraces him

Her mind no longer fuzzy

Her hands clean, Tears dry.
