Dead

Am I still alive?

In every sense of the word

Yes

But am I alive to you?

Since I tried

To walk out of your life

I seem to be dead or dying

But never have I been more alive

I’m know our perspectives

Are different

But I don’t want you to be the one

Wielding the knife

Or tapping poison

Into an unsuspecting cup

Or pressing a gun

To an innocent temple

Why take the lives of the innocent?

Take the life of the guilty

And all the love

Ever felt therein

‘If I can’t have her

No one can’

How many times have

Those words been uttered?

And how many times

Has the threat been carried out?

Don’t put them in the middle

This is between you and me
