A club speeds by my tinted window

Full of music and pulsing lights

And the black-clad girl with a thousand friends

And tiger eyes

I see laughter on a movie screen

The stars go spinning away

Pages and pages of my crooked handwriting

Swept away by the flood

I lie with you on the warm afternoon bricks

And feel the imaginary sunlight

Raining down on our upturned faces

And closed eyes

I hear a single heartbeat

In the ear which is pressed to your chest

A single drumbeat to mark a single moment

When I am utterly yours
