“What am I doing?” Liam whispered, sitting in the bath tub. The pounding on the door stopped merely seconds before, and he’d heard Greg curse and leave. His bedroom door had been closed. Below, he could hear the party continuing, the guests’ thoughts of the birthday boy completely diminished by the amounts of booze they undoubtedly consumed.
A knock came from his bathroom window.
Liam blinked back his confused tears, and lifted his head to look at the window, drapes covering it. Another knock came, and then an impatient, “Come on, kid,” grumbled from outside. Liam stood and stepped carefully out of the tub, before crossing the small room and raising his hands to pull back the curtains.
A pale, heart shaped face greeted him, pure purple eyes very close to the glass.
Liam cried out in fear and almost fell down.
The face laughed.
“Just open up, I can’t float here forever.” Liam shook his head quickly and stepped forward, prying open the window enough for the tall man to float - yes, float, Liam told himself grimly - inside. There was no tree or anything to support the man in the cool night, Liam saw as the man stood in the air, toes barely skimming the floor. Liam turned to the man and blinked at the site. A tall, pale man, black spiky hair, bright, lavender eyes, and wearing nothing but a tiny white loincloth. Liam could perfectly picture the man’s package behind the tiny cloth, and blushed quickly, raising his head and finding his eyes.
“Hello, Liam. The queen requested me here by your father’s personal request. My name is Robin Sterling.” The man bowed, and Liam saw the shape of his eight pack nicely parted by a thin line of black happy trail.
Gulp, Liam thought.
“Now, now, calm yourself, young man.” Robin drew his knees up and folded his legs in a womanly manner, clutching his knee with both hands. “I’m just here to give you some information.”
Liam nodded.
“First off, you’ve come to age-”
“What?” Liam immediately interrupted, to which Robin snapped his fingers. Liam’s lips instantly sealed together and his jaw locked shut. His eyes widened in surprise, and then narrowed in anger.
“Now then,” Robin cleared his throat and continued, ignoring Liam’s extended middle finger. “I came to tell you, that you’ve come to age. You are sixteen years of age as of five o’ six this morning. Sixteen years prior, you emerged from your mother’s womb, all small, and red, and ooky, and sticky…” Robin shuddered, his cheeks extending as he gagged a little bit. “Anyway, what that means, is your mother’s side is becoming dominant in you, just like it does all of us.
“You’re a vampire, Liam.”
Liam’s eyes widened and he suddenly wrenched his mouth apart, gasping. “That’s ludicrous!” he cried, throwing his hands in the air. Robin tapped his foot patiently. “How can I be a vampire? And if I was really a vampire and it was dominant right now, wouldn’t I have sucked that guy dry?”
Robin chuckled. “Yes, you would have. But not his blood.”
Liam reddened in a deep blush.
“You feed off of sexual gratification. If you cause pleasure, the body you’re pleasuring allows you to feed off of the energy. Of course, it’s not always sexual - you could be helping a little old lady across the street and receive a little snack - but of course sexual is the deepest, and most intense type of pleasure the human body feels.”
“So… I’m a succubus or something?” Liam asked.
Robin blinked and then rolled in the air in a fit of laughter.
“Oh ho ho ho ho! No, my sweet child, no!” He continued chuckling as he set himself straight, which made gravity pull his loincloth back in place, much to Liam’s mixed dismay and thankfulness. “You’re the male version, the Incubus.
“I’m nearly done here, as I’m running late due to your air headedness,” Robin said, glancing at an invisible watch on his lithe wrist. “But I must tell you, keep your head down. Don’t give in to your urges too soon, as they may be too intense right now. You have no experience with this sort of thing.” He drifted to the window and peaked his head out. “Your body is going to go through some changes. Just go with it. If you notice anything weird, tell your father and he should be able to contact your mother.” And then he was gone.
“My mother?” Liam murmured to himself.
