"What?" He growled. Mr. Paim shook his head.
"The band doesn't like you. They say you criticize badly every chance you get. They say they want a new Producer. I'm sorry, Ryan." Mr. Paim said. Ryan kept gaping,
"But I've been in the industry for 27 years! This is the biggest band yet! Why not put them with the most experienced man?" He demanded. Mr. Paim sighed again.
"It doesn't matter about experience, Ryan! It matters about what they play! You may be in the industry for a long time, but I'm a bringing in a Newbie to take these guys. She can take them. She might even become friends with them. I'm not firing you, I'm just re-assigning you." Mr Paim tried to explain- Ryan wouldn't hear anything of it.
"Who is it?" As if on cue, a young woman walked through the office doors.
She was wearing torn tight black jeans- With a black and thin striped blouse and her fiery red hair in a black claw. Her black flats clicked on the marble floor.
"Hello Roger, Ryan." She greeted, smiling showing her perfect white teeth and shook Mr. Paim's hand and nodded in Ryan's direction.
"Emma! How good it is to see you today. Our meeting with the band starts at 3:50, so we have around 15 minutes. Sit down, Sit down." Mr. Paim said, taking his own seat. Ryan threw Emma a dirty look before leaving the room.
"Okay, you haven't met the band members yet am I correct?" Emma nodded, "Well, you've heard their music before?" Emma shook her head,
"I haven't paid to much attention to them sir- I believe they have enough at the moment." She said.
"True true... Ok it says here you graduated as a Music Major?" She nodded again,
"Top of the class." Emma stated proudly.
"Excellent, excellent. You are 24 years old?" Emma nodded once more, "It says here that you have a daughter that is 5 years old. Are you married?"
"Oh no sir. I can't settle down, but I love my daughter." She said, Mr. Paim smiled,
"alright, I'm going to let you go, and be at the meeting room in 5 minutes alright? you should get something to drink." Emma nodded and left the large office.
Emma dug into her jean pocket to find her cell phone to call her parents. She hasn't found a good job since she left college, and when she got this job she was thrilled. She dialed in her mothers phone number,
"Hello?" The old womans voice said,
"Mom! It's me! I got the job, I'm going in the meeting room in a few minutes."
"That's great sweetie!"
"I know, the band is really famous ma! this is so good." She said, she had walked over to the soda machine and put in 2 dollars for a bottle of Pepsi.
"Yes Em, it's great, Have you spoke to Jake yet?" I sighed,
"Mom. I haven't talked to him since that day in the summer after senior year. You KNOW what happened."
"I know sweetie but he's so hurt! He's told me that you haven't picked up his phone calls, he's totally given up. He hasn't moved on Emma!"
"Well niether have I, but I'm not moping around." Lies "I don't want to talk about it Mom."
"I heard his band became sucessful this year. They're big, the name is-"
"MOM I'm hanging up now!" She said smiling, and hung up.
Emma started to walk down the stairs to the meeting room, when she noticed her watch said 3:58. Shit!
She ran down the steps, dodge some people on the steps as they made their way up, and sprinted towards the meeting room .
Emma ripped the oak doors open, looking at the long red table, "Sorry sir, my mom called and-" She stopped talking. It wasn't just Mr. Paim sitting at the table. a certain Blonde and his old band of a red head, a brunette, and a guy she couldn't recongise.
"Emma?" Jake asked.
