17 And the hunt is on

I leap backwards and land on the roof of the school. Soon everybody in the gym starts pouring out of the double doors, and the police try to gain control of the situation. I leap to a nearby building and change back, and then from the street I take my place among the clueless onlookers.

Reporters try to get the next morning’s scoop before anyone else, and I listen as people start talking to the police and reporters. I see Jenifer and she’s looking around at something in the air, almost perplexed at what she, and only she, can see. I spot Sarah making her way over to Jenifer and they start talking quickly before a reporter reaches them.

Throughout the entire ordeal I hear a hundred different versions of the same story, but not once did I hear my name being mentioned. Only that the Black Rose showed up and started talking about a weapon called Circle. Nobody said anything about Dizzy Cosmos talking to him, only The Black Rose, who is now known as The Crystal Rose.

Once the reporters heard that I changed my name and costume, they all had a field day.

I go and move the car before the rush out of there starts. I wait until the crowd starts to disperse, a few hours later, and feel Sarah making her way home. I pull up next to her and roll down the window, “Now what kind of boyfriend do you think I’d be if I made you walk all the way home?” I ask and she turns around. She quickly gets in.

“Jenifer? She’s the other marked one, isn’t she? That’s why she was acting all freaked out, and that’s why you talked to her after I left. Isn’t it.”

“Ding ding ding, we have a winner.” I say like a seventies game show host.

“Oh shut up.” She says playfully, “Man, I’ve known her for years…and I’ve seen the mark on the back of her shoulder, I just never put it together. Who would have thought? So what do you make of you getting a new compass?”

“Maybe I’m supposed to find everyone, and if that’s the case, then the job just got a little easier.”

We chat some more about what happened and what it means, but we finally reached her house. I walk her to the door and kiss her goodnight, “You’d better go watch over Jen, when I first got the suit I was really curious and started testing the limits, and if I know her she will to. I’ll meet you on the roof as soon as my dad falls asleep.”

“K, until later.”I say and she enters her house.

I drive to a nearby parking garage and leave the car there as I walk to Jenifer’s house. I can feel her pacing in a room inside.

For about an hour and a half she just paces in there, but soon I can feel the compass’s pull get stronger. From inside there’s a scream and lots of thumps, and the compass stops pulling. I enhance my hearing enough to listen in on her explanation to her parents of why she screamed. She blamed it on a spider and I chuckle.

Soon they leave and the compass starts pulling again. Only this time it keeps pulling until it’s at full strength and she’s in full suit.

Once she’s fully in the suit I feel Sarah’s pull and immediately do the same.

I don’t realize it at first, but the moment all three of us are in our suits at the same time, I start being pulled in two more directions. One I can feel is outside the city, and the other just keeps spinning, never settling for a moment as if it didn’t know where the person was.

I smile as I realize what this means. I can find them all now, “Ready or not, here I come.” I say to no one but the wind as I take a giant leap and head to the rooftop.

Sorry about the wait. I intended to post this on New Year’s Eve, but I had a party to host and completely forgot. And I spent the 1st sleeping all day.

So, anywho. Thank you for reading my story, and I hope u enjoyed it. I’ll be posting The Crystal Rose soon, and I guarantee you that it’s even more messed up then this one.

I had a lot ideas that I never got around to adding to this story, such as originally I was going to have Dizzy blow up the warehouse because the cops were coming to arrest everyone and then they (Dizzy & Sarah) go stay with Madison who turned out to be Sarah’s mother, but like I said I never got around to it. Now I have a much better plan for Madison (she’s not related to Sarah now). So much could have been in the world that thrives within my imagination, but alas ‘tis not to be. Hope you keep reading.
