This hicky

A bright purple hue

Speckled with red

Is all-encompassing

Spreading across soft skin

On the slope of my neck

But now

It’s disappearing

Little by little

Hardly visible

To the naked eye

It’s vanishing

Into nothingness

Into the neutral backdrop

Of my neck

It’s fading away

Like our love

Ever so slowly

But ever so surely

And one day

When I look in the mirror

It’ll be gone

Irretrievable

Without a trace
