As evening hues
Run 'cross the sky,
The sunset acts
The day's good-bye.
As heavy clouds
Crowd the darkened sky,
A grey fog sets
Down where cities lie.
As acid rains
Pour from a crumpled sky,
From a homebound worker
Escapes a tired sigh.
As thunder cracks
In ebony skies,
A bolt of lightning reaches down
And flashes
In many frightened eyes.
