As darkness gathers, stronger still my mind

It calls upon Your Name, my Love - on Thee

And though I fall on through the night, I see

You wait there now, Your presence strong and kind

My Hope, my Strength, my Friend, my Love, I find

You never are too far away from me

You’ve never left my side - You'll always be

The Joy that leads me through the sadness blind

The Hand that holds me up when I am weak

The Voice that whispers when I cannot speak

The Light that fills my heart, my true renew'l

The only Love that never shall be cruel

For You, I sing this song of awe and praise
