Achilles

Michael L’oil Fol

Michael McCormick

…………

An Ash smeared apparition,

shrouded by a licentious conflagration,

peers at the righteous brilliance

of flaming tongues, which

lick the char,

on a husk of burned bridge.

While acrid smoke caresses a malignant simper

……………

His home is Atlantis.

As Birnum wood advances,

it is met by a brilliant grin.

All inadequacies fall into a chasm, bottomless.

An opening gapes beneath the tempestuous water,

which echoes the absence of Synderesis.

Both will consume their mundane fodder.

……………….

He punches the keys,

a would be smithy,

mocked by the Page of his enemy,

who is immaculate in white garb,

Smirking at the insignificance,

his face is smudged with grimy toner.

………….

………..

Ps…I know Achilles home isn’t Atlantis and Birnam Wood is from Macbeth…poetic license
