Don’t Let Go

Drag the point across my skin.

Slice deep, leave no room for error.

Heart racing, breathing slow

The cold melting under the red that streams from my body.

Looking down I feel so empty

Will it hurt more now that I don’t like the pain?

You have left me alone, deserted.

A stream gathers beneath me and I fall on hands and knees

The white from Heaven and red from flesh turn pink

Flakes crunch under my shifting weight.

Tired muscles strain against blurred scenery

I sink against the chilling cold, both dark and light

Slowly fading sun too bright and ragged breath

Staring blankly, three . . . two . . . one.
