You’ve always put up with my constant drabbles

My crazy antics

My constant chatter

My chronic complaining

You just sat there and listened

Never once displaying any hint of irritation.

You pushed me to do things I needed to

And held me back on things I shouldn’t.

You were there the days I needed a friend

As well as those I thought I didn’t.

You helped me through the hard times

And laughed with me through the good ones.

You never said a word

When I walked away from you

But you were there

When I came back hurt and confused

And you lifted me back up.

You’ve shared in my joys

My pain

My sorrows

My victories.

You were always there when I was falling,

Not just there watching, but helping pull me back.

Your smile brightened up my darkest days

Your kind words lightened up my bleakest nights.

And now, dear friend,

We’re coming upon the greatest adventure of our lives.

It’s a scary time for both of us

When we must sprout our own wings and fly away

Leaving our old lives behind we’ll start anew.

And even though we’ll go off to separate schools

I’ll never have another friend like you

.:For Sarah, my best friend through all these years:.

I wrote this for my best friend just before we both graduated. She is the only one who knew I existed Freshman year. She stuck with me when I veered away. She will always be my best friend.
