RAPTURE

The magnolias bleed at sunset.

Shadows dripping in languid rivers

through the lush white softness

of the blossom’s satin petals.

Sunshine seeping into wine,

a cabernet ooze

making its way through burgundy cheesecloth

and erupting like a volcano

into the hollow shell of a room.

The rolling waves merlot.

The seamless ebb and flow.

The patient to and fro.

Infinite forever,

an inebriate’s dream of drowning

until.

Black starlight.

And the caste magnolias

heal their scars.

Gleaming in the sun’s reflection

brighter than any light.
