Lady Sylvanía, famed rebel from the Silver Forest, sat in a prison cell cursing her own foolishness. She – who had resisted the empire alone for twelve years – should have known better than to walk straight into that ambush! Now she was in one of the most highly guarded prisons in the empire, awaiting her execution with no hope of escape.
"Will you play with me?" Sylvanía whirled around in shock, looking for the one who had asked the question. What she had thought was a bundle of rags stirred, and she realized that it was actually a little girl.
"Will you play with me?" the girl asked again. Sylvanía looked at her. She was thin and filthy. It was obvious that she hadn't had enough to eat for a long time, if ever. Sylvanía walked over to the girl and looked into her wide, brilliant blue eyes.
"How do you play?" She found herself becoming increasingly intrigued as the girl explained the game. It was a type of role-playing game, with Sylvanía playing somebody trying to escape from prison and the girl trying to stop her. It felt like hours later when the girl smiled and looked up at her.
"You see a forest in the distance. You are finally safe." The girl laughed. "You're good at this game! We should play again some time." Sylvanía looked into the girl's eyes again. There was a flash, then everything vanished. Sylvanía looked around in shock at her new surroundings. She was on a grassy hill, and the prison was gone. In the distance she saw a forest that looked strangely familiar. She walked towards it, still not understanding.
And so the Lady Sylvanía, free once again, returned to the Silver Forest.
