Its one of those days again. Y’know, those days were you feel like staying cuddled up by your duvet, not wanting to jump out of bed and dazzle the world with your biggest and brightest smile. And why do I feel this way? Because today is about a big, shinny, new thing. A big, scary, shinny new thing. And that thing is called Riverdale College.
So what? No biggie right, I mean I’m officially not a school girl, I’m in a new city… which means no friends to comfort me with the dilemma of ‘what to wear to the first day of college’. I feel like someone is going to tap me on the shoulder and say “Who do you think you are? Go back to where you came from!”
So why did my Dad decided to move Mum, snuffles and I half was across the country? ‘Cause he is hellbent on ruining my life and destroying what little self esteem I have left. The official reason was ‘You’re going to college in Melbourne because I got a new job with better pay over there.’ And he expected me to say ‘Sweet! When do we move?’ instead of the hissy-fit I made with at least 45 good excuses on why not to move.
That’s why I’m laying here scribbling in my Emily Strange book, un-pre-pared for ‘the big day’ also known as first day of college. Like I said, so un-pre-pared.
