The only one there,

No one else,

Yet others are there

Just not within reach.

But they don’t want them

It’s always me

Even when I do not have the answers.

And they blame me for not being there

For not helping them.

But what should I have done?

No experience, yet needed,

Desperately needed.

One wrong answer

And they hate you.

One wrong word

And you offend them.

Trapped in a corner with no one for help

Because no one helps

When it is needed the most.

Dependency is a drug

A harmful, addictive drug.

Like cocaine,

But cocaine is curable

Dependency is not.

Dependency sucks the life out of the dependent and independent

Not caring at all.

To depend on someone is suicide

Yet how can you do everything yourself?

How can you help others when you can’t even help yourself?

This just came up now, but I've felt like this an abundance of times and I am sure plenty of people have too.
