Chapter 1

Hint

I arrived to the mansion that had been left to me by my parents. I was finally old enough to have it. My parents died when I was just a baby so I don't remember them, but there is one thing that I'll never forget. The last words I ever heard from them; 'The red book; find it', that's when they gave me the house key. No one believes me when tell them about the red book. They all say 'You were to young to remember.' I know that I was, but that doesn't change the fact that I do remember. So now I'm here, standing in front of my house. According to my parents will I own it all; the money; the land; everything.

I looked at the mansion that now belonged to me. It was black and white and 4 stories high with trees surrounding it. I took out the key and opened the wooden front double doors and walked in. I looked around. To my right were a silver elevator and a flight of stairs. In front of me was a hall way that clearly took you through the rest of the first floor. To my left were another flight of stairs, this time going down. I closed the house door and went down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs to the right was a giant indoor pool with red water in it.

"What the -?" I asked walking over to the pool cautiously. I looked down into the water. The inside of the pool had red tiles. "Is it...Blood?" I asked cautiously putting my right hand into the water and taking it out. The water was cold and a bit dirty. "Well, that clears that up. It's not blood; thank god. But then...What is it? It's not dye because if it was my hand would be red now and it's not." I thought but nothing came to mind. I decided to drop it for now and continue to look around. I walked past the pool to two pillars that were used to hold up the ceiling. That's when I saw an opening between the two pillars that I hadn't noticed before. I walked through and came to another room. This one had a bowling ally in it. There were 8 lanes and bowling balls in stands all over the place. I continued walk in looking around. There was a bar that had a refrigerated in a closet behind the counter and a microwave, oven, toaster, dishwasher and tons of cabinet's filled with plates and glasses. Everything was pretty dusty though. I sighed.

'Man, I'll need to have the maids clean this place after I do a quick look at everything.' I mentally complained. I walked out of the bowling ally and back into the room where the pool was. I looked at the pool with the red water still curious about what it was. I shook my head and walked to the right of the pool to an open area. I guessed that this was where dad build cars since there were stains all over the floor and there was a garage door; kinda a weird place to build a car if you asked me but from what people had told me he liked to do build them inside but in a room with lots of windows. I also knew that this was the only room with so many windows. I walked past my dads work area to where the windows were. There were a few stairs that took you to the windows that went from the floor to the ceiling. I then noticed that there was another pool outside; a hot tube. I looked at the windows themselves again looking for a way out there. Then I saw a door handle. I walked over to it and unlocked it before opening it and walking outside. It was nice out. A bit warm but the sprinklers were on. Flowers lined the side of the house, trees loomed over head providing shade in the summer. I smiled before walking back inside and back over to the stair case to go back upstairs. I took one last look around noticing to the left of the stair case that I now stood on was another hot tube this time it was inside. I walked over to it. The one outside had clear water though more then just a bit dirty and in desperate need of cleaning. I looked down at the water in the indoor hot tube. The water was surprisingly clear. A little dirt here and there but the water wasn't that bad. I walked back to the stair case and looked at the pool with the red water once more before going back upstairs.

I looked through each of the bedrooms surprised that there was so little dust. It was proven by the video cameras and the security that no one had been in the house for years; ever since my parents died. So the place should be covered in dust, but it wasn't. I told the maids to clean everything up and let me know if they found a red book or journal of some kind while they cleaned. I found the library in the back of the house on the third level and started looking through it for a physics or science book to see if I could figure out the mystery of the red water in the pool. None of the books I found answered anything or even helped me for that matter.

I sighed as I walked down stairs to the pool. I told the maids that they could clean all the other pools but this one. I sat down at the bottom of the stairs in front of the pool and thought of every possibility but none of them were possible.

'Not blood; not dye; so what?' I mentally asked myself as I continued to stare at it. I came up with nothing each time I asked myself.

"You want to know what it is?" a males voice asked. It sounded so far away; like an echo of someone else. But voices didn't echo in this room or any of the others for that matter.

"Should yourself; you are you?" I asked looking around.

"I would if I could honey." The male answered. I looked around.

"Honey? How do you think you are calling me that? What do you mean you would if you could?" I asked trying to hear where the voice was coming from. The person chuckled.

"I think that I'm your dad. As to what I mean; I'm dead as you and I both know; so I can't show myself." The male's voice came. It sounded like it was all around me. I stared in shock.

"But then...How can you...How can I...How can I hear you? How can you say anything?" I asked franticly trying to find the answers.

"When you find your mother's and my red journal all the questions will be answered." He answered.

"Wait! Where is the journal?" I asked. The man chuckled.

"If I hand you all the answers then you won't ever learn anything. But I will give you a hint. It is a place outside the box. Look in places that you would never expect a journal to be. Look everywhere. From ceiling to floor to the very ground you walk on. It could very well be right in front of you." The voice answered. I sighed.

"But...that still does help me? How can it..." I stopped. "That's it! Outside the box! That's it! That's it! It wouldn't ever be in a place a normal everyday person would think to look! It has to be in a place that makes no sense!" I yelled. Now all I had to do was look in every crazy ass place that I could think of and find the red journal.

Okay, first of all, I knopw that this chapter is REALLY short which is encredibly unlike me. But I don't want to give everything away in the first chapter. So I am VERY sorry that it's so short. As for the first chapter, I know that it is kinda boring. It's only the first chapter. So don't freak 's gonna get better. After all, what's so great about a book anyways? Yeah, even I wanna know. No, I don't know what's going to happen next. All my original stories come from my dreams which means. Chapter 2 will be from my dream which I should have soon since I've finished typing up chapter 1. After all, that's normally how it works. I finish typing the chapter; I have the next dream. But even if I do have the dream and type it up that does NOT mean that I'll post it without any reviews. No reviews, no new chapter. Okay? Okay.

Also, DO NOT FLAME. Advice is fine. But DO NOT FLAME me. I don't wanna hear it and the message will be ignored. I'm not interested in your insults. If you don't like it, that's fine. You have the right to your own oppinion. Thank you.

By the way, DO NOT STEAL. Simple as that. It's mine. They are MY dreams. So don't steal them. Thank you.
