"I'm so tired!"
Yumeko whined, keeping her heavy lidded eyes forward, as she trudged her way to school.
"Yumeko, pep up, you wouldn't want Naoko to see you slouching!"
Michiko replied.

It was an overcast morning in the city of Amano, and it looked like rain would be certain during the afternoon hours.
Nakamura, Yumeko yawned widely, her eyes tearing up.
Oh, this was going to be a long day!

"Humph, maybe I could fake a stomach ache and fall asleep in the nurses office..."
Yumeko muttered, she shouldn't have stayed awake to read all that manga.
"Yumeko, snap out of it! Look, there's Naoko!"
Michiko said, pointing forward.

And indeed it was.
A tall, lanky boy with messy black hair, big brown eyes, what a cutie!
Yumeko straightened up as much as any dead tired school girl could at seven thirty in the morning, as they approached him at the stop light.
He was a year older, and one of those boys that all the girls fawned over, even though he didn't seem too interested in all of the attention.
But Yumeko and Michiko usually tried to treat him as a normal human being, despite their attraction to him.

"Hi Naoko... how are you?"
Yumeko asked with a soft smile upon her face.
"Hmm, fine, just a little tired"
Naoko replied, smiling back.
"Oh, ME too"
Yumeko strongly agreed.

It only took minutes to reach Amano Chuugakkou, the local junior high school.
Students and Teachers were pouring in, and the three students were among them.

Classes went by as they usually did, with Yumeko fighting the urge to sleep, while listening to Takashii-Sensei the best she could, taking down notes, and hoping she wouldn't have to answer any questions.
She was enthralled when school was finally over, and since her club wasn't meeting today, she decided to rush home and take a nap.
She walked through the front door of the apartment... her mother was in the kitchen doing dishes, and singing loudly.

"I'm home!"
She muttered, not really caring if her mother could hear her or not.
She slipped on her pink bunny slippers and proceeded to the sofa across the room, where she slumped over the armrest and proceeded to drift into sweet sleep.
Yumeko loved to sleep, loved to dream... it was so peaceful, comforting.

She was sitting on the couch, watching television.
"Yumeko, when did you get home?"
Her mother asked, out of sight.
Yumeko crawled on her knees, and peeked out from the front of the couch.
She expected her mother to be standing behind the couch, because it sounded like she spoke... but it was someone else.

It was Naoko!
"Naoko?! How do you know where I live"
Yumeko asked, shocked and excited.

"I'm not Naoko, my name is Morpheus... and I take it your the girl I'm supposed to meet, Yumeko?"
Morpheus asked, his gorgeous outfit reminiscent of the midnight skies, and so vivid.
"Stop being silly, Naoko, you look nothing like Morpheus"
Yumeko teased, imagining the movie character of The Matrix.
"Yumeko, your asleep on the couch right now... this is a dream"
He told her.
"No I'm not, I'm talking to you"
She said, and when she turned around to face the TV, she was standing behind the couch, and standing in front of Morpheus.
Upon further inspection, she really was on the couch sleeping, but how is this?

"I don't..."
Yumeko began, her eyes widening.

"Wake up"
Morpheus told her.

"Wake up"
The voice repeated.
Yumeko groggily came to. She lay on her stomach upon the couch, staring at the blank, black screen of the TV across the way.
"Yumeko, you should've told me you were home"
Her mother said, clearly upset, but not too much.

Yumeko sat up on the couch, rubbing her eyes, was this another dream?
"Sorry mom... I was so sleepy"
Yumeko told her mother, brushing her hand through her deep brown hair.
"It's okay, but I was starting to worry, until I noticed you on the couch"
Her mother said, smiling and sitting down with Yumeko.

She felt very refreshed, although still a little tired.
But her dream, it was kind of creepy, and she felt upset by it, although she couldn't say just why.

"I'm going to go do my homework"
Yumeko muttered after a few minutes of watching TV with her mother.
She stood up and walked to her bedroom, grabbing her fallen backpack on the way.
She closed the door behind herself, and laid down on the bed.
The dream really bothered her, but she didn't understand why.

"Don't worry"
Someone spoke.
She looked up from her soft pink blanket to see Morpheus standing at her window.
"How'd you get in my room?! MOM!"
She screamed.
"Don't worry, your dreaming again, look"
Morpheus told her, and she was suddenly standing at the bedroom door, watching herself sleep upon the bed.

"But I was..."
Yumeko muttered, getting nervous and scared.
"You fell asleep again, many can in the drop of a hat... you have no need to fear these dreams"
Morpheus explained, as Yumeko slowly walked over to him, although she felt like she could barely move.

"Yumeko, you must take control of you dreams, and it is only then that you will unlock your potential to become a Dream Keeper"
Morpheus said
