Can you suspend disbelief

For this pretty scene

That we wrote to make you see

Just how much our frigid hearts will bleed

I wrote the gospel on losing faith

In this grand masquerade

Where everyone is part of the parade

Even if your the one trying to burn it away

I need a few more pills to pull off this act

But there ain't no chance of going back

To the dreams and the things

We fools used to believe

So scream until your lungs give out

Try to make them understand your doubt

Tell them this scene is just a lie

That we’re all desperately hiding behind

They never heard a word you see

Because they learned to suspend disbelief

For this pretty scene

That we wrote to make you see

Just how frigid your heart will be

Because nothing is really what it seems

Even if its been your steadfast belief

And I wrote the gospel on losing faith

In this grand masquerade
