This is Stockholm's syndrome

To those who may not know

I’ve fallen in love with my captors

The maestros of my disaster

I envy those who hold my soul

Even though theirs is twice as cold

Is it wrong to wish that I could conform

Within the window of perfection they preserve

This is Stockholm’s syndrome

For those who may not know

A living example is easily found

Within these chains that were casually bound

Around my heart and dreams

If this you can conceive

I’m a accident waiting to happen

And my captors are now this shipwreck’s captain

This is the dream of nothing but making a scene

And finally being recognized and seen

So this is Stockholm’s syndrome

To those who may not know
