all that glitters
She’s gold, and I’m silver; second place. After all, she is always first in your heart. And I’m always the afterthought. I’m always second best, runner-up, second string. I am the supporting actor in our play of hearts and that girl you barely know plays the lead.
Of course she gets the glory. She gets the love. She gets the guy; she’s got you.
She’s the type of girl that you’d have to be blind and deaf not to notice. She is just so loud, and she shines. When she smiles it’s almost blinding in all its brilliance and when she laughs it’s contagious; She’s classically beautiful with her sapphire eyes and golden locks and she is just so hard not to notice. I’m just the quiet one that rarely smiles and rarely laughs. I’m the one in the background, smiling only for you.
But it’s hard to see the background when the foreground stands out so much.
I’m just silver and somehow you’re b l i n d e d by her because she’s gold and she just sparkles so bright.
& they say: all that glitters is gold.
I say: “I’ll prove you w r o n g.”
Because silver shines too.
( Sometimes it even shines brighter. )

Um. A spur of the moment thing. It basically summarizes all the feelings that I am and have experienced when it comes to being rejected. When it comes to the other girl. Thank gosh he can’t read this. Is this a poem? I really don’t know. xD
