With You

And as I lie there,
With my eyes closed,
Blissfully peaceful,
Your arms around my side,
I see the pretty lights flicker,
And fade, shade to shade.
Pinks and blues,
Hazy purples, chilled out greens that
Swirl around the room and
Catch the hues of sweet soft hair.

And I can hear you,
You’re breathing in my ear,
Rhythmically deep,
Paced and measured,
And its whistle makes me
Think back to times
When the wind
Blows along the hilltops,
Which can be so passionate,
So stormy, yet
Can be the softest breeze.
