You tell us it's our world
We control what we do
We make our own decisions.
You spit lies out
Telling us we're on our own
And our choices are ours alone.
They're not.
The motivational crap
You spew at us
Trying to get us excited
And believe you
Doesn't work anymore.
It won't help us
Neither will you.
We don't care what you have to say
And nothing you say will change that.
You tell us what we can do
When we can do it
And how to do it,
All the while
Telling us that it's our choice.
It's not.
You make the choices for us
It's your fault if we fail
And yet you punish us for it.
We resent you
And you know it.
So you give us more reason
To hate you.
You give us
Some made up fantasy
Of the world today
And try to convince us
That it's real.
But it's not
It never will be.
And at the end,
All we're left with
Is another choice you make for us:
"Make it a great day,
Or not,
The choice is yours."
