Wrong Girl

This wasn’t how it was supposed to be, I wasn’t supposed to fall for him all over again.

I hate this feeling; I shouldn’t have introduced them if I would have known that I would go through this. Damn him for being so charming, and friendly. And she had to rub it in my face; she was supposed to be my best friend.

There they were, sitting across from me, being ‘in love’. In reality, she’s cheating on him while he devoted himself to her. It’s not in my place to say anything, it’s for the best right?

And that’s how he ended up in my house at the brink of tears, he saw her with the other guy, and she laughed at him for being so pathetic.

It broke my heart to see him crying, but I knew it was coming.

“Josh, she’s not worth it to be cried over.” I tried to sooth him as his crumpled form was curled into my lap.

“You knew, didn’t you?” He spat bitterly without looking at me.

“Yeah.” I couldn’t lie to him.

“You knew all this time, and you didn’t bother to tell me? What kind of a friend are you?” He ranted angrily.

“Well, you wouldn’t have believed me since you were so ‘in love’ with her! What kind of friend am I? How about you Mr. Ignore-Tori-When-My-Other-Half-Is-Around? Were you there when my grandpa died? Were you there when I collapsed? Where were you when I needed comfort when I got my heart broken?” I just broke, I was so sick of him and his bullshit.

“ But that’s not fair!”

“What’s not fair? The fact how you get your heart torn out by my so-called best friend who turned into a tramp? You know what I don’t think is fair? How I still love you even though you tore my heart into pieces when you told her you loved her. Do you know how it made me feel?” She paled. He looked at her speechless, and she quickly pushed him off and got up charging towards the door.

“That was a mistake, I need to go now.” She just ran, she was good at that. When she was at least 5 blocks away, she realized that she just ran out of her own house and groaned.

Josh groaned, he didn’t realize what his friend was going through until she snapped. He grinned slightly, that was why he loved her so much, her and her short temper. He froze, what he loved about her? He fell for the wrong girl. So he got up and ran. He knew where she would end up.

She sighed kneeling down to look at the puppy in the cage who whined at her.

“Danielle, I want this puppy.” Her elderly friend smiled at her.

“So you finally chose a puppy huh? He’s going to be mighty big.” She kneeled on the ground beside her looking at the husky.

“I know, I’ve been eyeing him for weeks. I already bought all the stuff.” She opened the latch and the puppy pounced on her and licked her face furiously as her friend laughed.

He was about to cross the street but he saw her walk out of the kennel, he saw a husky trotting happily behind her. So he ran to her before she got too far.

“Tori!” She froze, the puppy turned around facing him and growled. She pets him and she studied him.

“What do you want now?”

“You.”

“I’m not going to be your rebound girl.”

“I know.”

Before she could say anything, he kissed her. And she melted.
