To be held in an undying embrace and told how one means the world to another should be the dream of every man woman and child on this Earth. To be loved and cherished should satisfy all people more than they could imagine, and their relationships should fill them to the brink until their soul runs over from the joys of this life, and cause them to relax, and happily live eternally in the hearts of their loved ones.

Alas, this cannot be, for dark forces lie dormant in the human mind, silent in their sleepless hunt for despair. The Dark shows in the eyes of a man striking down his fellow in the midst of a drunken brawl, and in the cries of pain following war and terror. These shapeless forms prevent us from truly appreciating the mortality of our existence, thus turning pointless our lives. Were the Dark to have its way, fear would rule all, and the cold would freeze us forever.

All is not lost however, as the Light is persistent in its permanence. The Light shines in the eyes of two lovers as they burn the night with radiant passion. In the golden touch of sunrise is the brilliance of day, and in the last ray of sunset is the start of tomorrow’s beginning. In the first sounds of an infant is the awakening of life, and in the voice of music, wonders can be felt.

From these two forces, a balance is found. A middle road is set in the ever wandering paths of our lives. As we walk this road, we must be ever wary of the surrounding Dark, for this balance is made by a single guide in the forest at night.. Should we stray from the advice of our heart, we shall be lost lest a friend extends a helping hand through the misery to pull us through. A single candle outshines the blackest shadow, as love outshines hate in the spirit of mankind.
