There’s always that someone,
Who drives you insane,
Who makes you look over your shoulder,
Who takes you for a loop.
There’s always someone
Who will make you second guess yourself,
Who makes you question who you are,
And why you’re here.
Always someone who inspires you,
Who makes you feel inferior,
But in a way that makes you want to improve,
Be the best you can be,
For them.
There’s always going to be someone nearby,
Who makes you wish you could look at life the way they do,
Someone
Who you admire,
Who you trust.
Always someone who will whisper something in your ear,
The words induce upon you,
Fear, shock,
Love…
There will always be someone beside you.
Whose heat you can feel,
Whose words you can hear,
Whose hands you can touch,
Who will tell you something,
And you won’t know how to answer them.
There’s always that someone,
Who will smile at you,
And that smile
Will either make you want to smile back,
Or cry.
And you won’t know which is better,
Because the moment’s too intense,
Too meaningful,
And you know that you will remember it
But you don’t know how to react,
So will you react?
Will you speak?
Answers only come after questions,
But if there is no question,
How can you answer?
How can you respond to a statement?
Always,
The unspoken will haunt you,
Will rag at your mind ceaselessly,
At all hours of the night,
Plaguing you with incessant dreams,
Forcing hot tears to spill down your cheeks,
But you don’t know why you cry.
Is a statement an unspoken, timid question?
Or is it a bold proclamation
That doesn’t require an answer?
There’s always that someone…
Who will throw you for a loop
That you will never recover from.
But it will always be up to you
Whether or not
To answer
The unspoken question
They’re too afraid to ask.
