His God of Guitar Strings
His god was not the god before him hanging valiantly upon a wooden cross
His gods were gods of lyrics and guitar strings
His gods were the band dubbed AC/DC of all things
Yet he was here standing before this dying savior
He knew not why he had been dragged from the rain to stand before him
And forced to look at his bleeding feet and arching features
He could not look his ‘other’ god in his glass tinted eyes
For he was sure that Jesus would be mocking him
Mocking him for worshiping lyrics and guitars
For guitar strings could bring his girlfriend no happiness
And thus she made herself no more
She found no soul or happiness in guitar strings
So did that mean he found no happiness in guitar strings also
Did that mean his religion was not real
… that he had no more soul?
