Ode of a Tainted Heart

Akin to a tainted rainbow, swirling with shaded hues;
His mind is not but twisted, chaos set terribly askew.
Bound by logic, but freed by affliction, a battle rages.
Ever conflicted, self inflicted,
Tragically a mess.

Seducing unsuspecting innocence, trusting hearts he breaks.
Unable to restrain desire, leading to a narcissistic state.
At heart he knows better, but is unable to resist.
The man’s soul now shaded; heart now jaded,
Almost willfully.

Pursuing simple pleasures, forbidden by the pure.
The product of one deeply lost, and uncertain to be sure.
With guidance offered, none he takes,
Not a cause of stubbornness, but a lethargic state,
This is his tragic flaw.
