Reality Check

THESE are the days when you fall over,

Giggle uncontrollably,

And find that school work is speaking Greek when you’re not.

THESE are the days when your

Tongue refuses to speak English

You feel like a deer in the headlights

And suddenly notebook doodling consumes you.

THESE are the days that I enjoy

Perhaps the most.

Because too often we try to act like

Grownups in a big, bad world were we’re supposed to know everything,

And forget that we’re still kids.

Still enjoy the stupid, childish things

Like poke wars

Staring contests

And the throwing of miscellaneous items towards one another.

These days don’t come often,

And maybe that’s a good thing

But when those times come around

Those times when you

Snicker at the word “butt”

Can’t focus on the board

And laugh uproariously at pathetic knock-knock jokes and their cousins, the puns,

Make sure you enjoy them.
