Daddy says I can't be friends with her.
Why?
She isn't evil;
She's my best friend.
Mommy says she can't be trusted,
But I don't understand.
I've known her for years;
We trusted her then.
What makes now any different?
Yes, she's Japanese.
But she didn't kill anyone.
Why should she be treated like she did?
She's only 12.
A whole year younger than me...
One day while we sat,
Playing on the swings,
Men in uniform came,
To take her away.
I tried to stop them;
I cried, I begged, I screamed,
But still she was wrenched away from me.
As I watched them put her in a van,
Where her mother, grandmother, and countless others sat waiting,
I saw my daddy watching too.
I met his cold hard stare,
With broken eyes,
And he smiled.
A/N: So, I wanted to capture a side of war that you rarely hear about. Don't ask me why I think about it this way. I hate war. Again, don't ask cause then I'll start to rant, and if I rant I'll get pissed and then I'll be pissed and ranting and it just won't be pretty, so don't ask, ok? Lol. R&R if you like it. Hell, R&R if you don't; it's fine with me. Lol.
