She wasn't afraid of death
they said
as they lowered her coffin
into the ground
She was a brave, vibrant
woman
were the loudest words in
air so full of sound.
I went to the noisiest
funeral ever,
as the space was filled
with not crying or cheering
but talk and gossip about
the youngest old woman I have ever met.
Even in death, around her
you just forget
Your self your ways your
life your love
All melted away and
comfort took over.
I think I heard laughing
that day, it was completely bizzare.
I grew up thinking
funerals were supposed to be sober.
She wasn't afraid of death
they said
as they lowered her coffin
into the ground
She was a brave, vibrant
woman
were the loudest words in
air so full of sound.
But I wonder, even for a
second
If the woman so loved by
everyone ever knew
how much she was needed
And if so...why did she
decide she was through?
