Without You

This morning I lost you; you stopped existing altogether.

I noticed it, but nobody else did, because you never had been at all.

My life ceased to have meaning, and the truth hit me.

You never had existed; it was only in my mind.

For how could someone so beautiful as you ever be?

How could anyone ever love me?

How could a world of evil spawn an angel?

How could such a fantasy ever be?

But as the fog in my mind cleared, my heart slowed.

Air rushed into my lungs and the thoughts of suicide were chased away by you.

All the memories flooded back, and I could almost feel you.

Almost feel your silken hair and warm hands, your lovely hips and beautiful face.

Suddenly I had purpose again and I could move again.

So I rushed out the door to find the only proof I would accept.

And later I felt your arms reach around me again, making me complete.

My life continues onward, revolving about you.
