Veiled Nights

Tears falling down my face as I sleep
Dreams filled with veils of mystery
Hiding me from those so near
Obscuring the vision of future

All I can see is the pain
And feel the hurt slide down my wrists
But his pain is nothing to that of sleep
Of endlessly veiled nights

I’m burning from the cold of night
I’m dying from this eternal life
Awareness is futile in the land of veils
Night and day are but the same

So with each dice and slice of life
I no longer care for time or place
My destiny is this darkness
I see only shadows beyond the veil
