Little Brother

My little brother has

eyes like shifting marbles,

As he prowls the kitchen floor,

A miniature lion on the hunt.

His fur stands at attention

when he catches sight of his pray,

Like the red coated guards of Buckingham Palace;

Crimson statues moved neither by wind or rain.

His ears are like a revolving door

Moving around his head;

Two satellites picking up on rat radio waves.

His legs and arms are scrunched up

Like an unwound slinky,

Then pounce!

The slinky unwinds.

His claws are like cactus needles

Withdrawing from his front pads,

As he traps the unfortunate mouse

In his dinner plate paws.
