HER

the scars on his knuckles and the fake smile he wears,

told me he’s still not over her.

I could’ve sworn I saw a tear fall down his face,

but he wiped it away

before anyone would notice he still missed her.

It was his ‘Im trying so hard to move on, I know I deserve better’ attitude,

that made me think I had a shot.

but the way he put his head down when she walked by,

told me otherwise.

the way he says he hates her and the stories he keeps telling,

told me he still wishes she’d come running back.

I could’ve sworn I saw him smile at me,

but he looked away

before I noticed

that he was looking right through me

and smiling at her
