Millie Smith was the happiest girl in the world; she had a great brother and an awesome boyfriend. Little did she know that nature will tear the three apart forever. She went to the beach over the summer and to her surprise, Carl, her boyfriend was there too. The next day she, Carl, and her brother Mike went to the mall. All over the TVs were stories about a young girl’s death. Millie stopped to watch and learned the girl had been killed by a shark. Millie was pretty worked up about that so Mike and Carl took her home.

The next day, Millie forgot all about the girl as the three got ready to go swimming. Millie, Mike, and Carl decided to go out really far; they went up to their shoulders and then past that until they could no longer touch the bottom and stayed there, talking as they swam. Millie happened to look out toward the ocean and saw a fin. She pointed it out to her brother but he said it was unlikely for it to come over here, there were too many people. So Millie tried to ignore the fin that seemed to be moving closer and closer. Then, there was an explosive pain on her right arm, she looked to see the huge body of a Great White Shark, she let out a terrified scream. She could see her blood spreading out over the water, and then she saw another fin. The second shark, a slightly smaller Great White, latched on to her left leg. She let out another scream. The sharks tried to swim off in different directions. Millie thought that she was going to be torn in half. That was when Mike and Carl swam in to help her. Millie knew she had lost a lot of blood and that she would most likely black out soon. But just then the sharks both let go, Millie heard a scream close by and then she knew no more.

She woke up to a white room, and look around, she realized she was in a hospital. A nurse came into the room; she smiled when she saw Millie was awake. Millie sat up in bed and asked what had happened. At those words the nurse’s smile faded. She said that a boat had come out shortly after Millie passed out. The boat had scared the sharks away. The nurse said that Millie was very lucky, not many people survived a double shark attack with just a few scars. Millie looked down and saw that she had nothing amputated. Then Millie remembered the scream near-by, when she asked, the nurse looked away. The nurse explained that the sharks attacked her brother and Carl, and both had died. Millie was so upset and then refused to talk to anyone. She then thought about what it must be like to have your life cut short by a shark. So she went back to the water with a bucket of blood she stole from the hospital, she poured it into the water and waited. In the distance a fin came speeding toward her.
