You

You’re my best friend.

I can tell you anything

Everything,

But I can’t tell you this.

I can’t tell you that

I go weak in the knees every time

I see you or that

My heart races when

I’m near you and

I feel so light-headed.

I can’t tell you that

Your gaze pierces right through me,

And I can’t catch my breath.
I feel like I’m going to fall over.

I can’t tell you that

Your image floats in front of me.

I reach out but

I catch just air.

You’re too far away, but so close.

I can’t tell you that

Your touch sends shivers down my spine,

Making me shudder.

I can’t tell you that

Your laugh is contagious,

Your smile makes everything

Seem okay,

You being there means the world

To me and more.

I can’t tell you that

Every day you are on

My mind

And every night

You are in my dreams.

I can’t tell you that

I love you.

I want to, but I can’t.
