Reptile

I can’t escape its gaze.
Cold blooded fangs are drawn.
Compassion once held is gone.
Somebody shake my disbelief away.
Become this thing, now I’m your prey.

This thing inside of you
Latched on and then it grew.
Nothing I do can change this reptile you have become.
Somebody help me
Bring back the real you.
Somebody help me kill this reptile.

I can’t escape its eyes.
Your looks still hypnotize.
But there's something else inside.
Fight back everything you were, tooth and nail.
Somebody peel back all these scales.

I always knew I’d see
The darker side of you.
But nothings prepared me for the reptile you have become.
Help me believe
It's not the real you.
Nothing I do can change this reptile you have become.
I thought I knew you.
I pray it can’t be true.
Somebody help me kill this reptile.

This reptile.
This reptile.

I know there’s still hope,
You’re still so young.
Kiss me with your flickering tongue.

I can't escape this hell.
Or this reptile.
This reptile you have become.
